Unforgettable Night!

THE OFFICIAL UNVEILING — THE INVISIBILITY BOX & THE ROTATING BOX

Two months. Two extraordinary illusions. Countless challenges. One unforgettable night at The Magic Castle!

On Tuesday, September 22, something truly special happened. After two months of intense fabrication, engineering, problem-solving, and countless late nights, The Invisibility Box and The Rotating Box were officially unveiled at the legendary Magic Castle!

These new photos capture the excitement of the event, the installation, and the incredible moment when these two illusions were finally revealed in their new home.

What started as an idea on the pages of a book had become a reality — and something people will now be able to experience for years to come. And we finished the entire project a full week ahead of the schedule!

A Special Night at The Magic Castle

The journey started with the brilliant mind of Gaetan Bloom and his concept published in Full Bloom, Vol. 2. Then Kevin James came into my shop and said, “We’re going to build these two props, and they’re going to live at The Magic Castle.”

The vision was simple: these weren't going to be illusions sitting behind glass. People would actually be able to touch them, interact with them, and experience the magic themselves. But here's the lesson: just because something looks great and is laid out in a book doesn't mean it's a walk in the park to build! There were plenty of hurdles along the way.

A huge thank you to Lupe Nielsen — the “Queen of Wood” — for consulting with me and helping solve some of those challenges. And a very special thank you to Lisa Barrett Brown, who I brought in to handle the incredible scenic work. Lisa put everything into these pieces. Many nights she was in my shop until 2:00 AM, painting, detailing, and making sure everything looked absolutely fantastic. Her dedication shows in every inch.
